The resemblance to flOw is undeniable, though something is lost in this rendition. Where as flOw is imbued with a sense of purpose and progression, Bubble Tanks is more about wandering around aimlessly. The mechanics have changed to become that of a shooter, making it more action oriented.
Minor flaws in the game play diminish the experience. The small playing field leads to having to shoot at enemies off-screen, and the controls become unresponsive when there’s a lot of action going on. Similarities in appearance between the tank and the enemy may result in confusion.
